I'm Matthias Zarzecki — an iOS and Flutter developer with 12+ years and 60+ shipped projects for clients like IBM, Allianz, Telekom, STIHL, and Dr. Oetker. Specialising in Bluetooth & IoT integrations, accessibility, mobile CI/CD, and the unglamorous engineering that makes apps feel inevitable.
SwiftUI and UIKit. Universal apps from iPhone to iPad to Mac Catalyst. App Store submission, TestFlight, and the long tail of platform paper-cuts.
Cross-platform apps that don't feel cross-platform. Custom widget systems, Dart packages, and the considered native plugins it takes to actually ship on both stores.
CoreBluetooth, GATT, NFC. Apps that talk to garden tools, e-bikes, safety wearables, and anything else with a radio — connections that survive the field, not just the demo.
Pipelines that build, test, sign, and ship without a human in the loop. I've cut deployment times by 90%, migrated whole platforms, and I teach this in workshops too.
The name comes from the way I think about this work. Software is built from the smallest possible units — zeros and ones, characters and tokens. But the act of assembling them well is a craft, the same way joinery or letterpress is a craft. Care at small scales becomes quality at large ones.
I've worked in larger teams and inside other people's processes. I've watched good ideas dissolve through too many handoffs. Working solo means the person you brief is the person who writes the code, ships the build, and answers your bug report. Fewer handoffs, fewer apologies.
I take a small number of engagements at a time and turn down work I can't do well. If that sounds like the kind of help you need, let's talk.
